Security & Traffic

Security & Traffic is responsible for the safety and security of all students, faculty, staff and visitors to the Fredericton campus. Security provides the first response to responsible incidents and medical calls. Security also protects the University infrastructure and assets and regulates the vehicle traffic on campus.

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 7:30 am - 4:00 pm | 40 hours per week

Salary Range: $27.39-$37.33 per hour

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Manager, Security Operations, the Traffic Supervisor is responsible for the Traffic program at UNB.

The Traffic

Supervisor manages the parking enforcement program, attends traffic-related meetings, investigates collisions, and liaises with work crews related to infrastructure and signage issues.

- Respond to all nature of emergency calls from collisions to alarms, etc.




- Enforce traffic regulations on campus and respond to queries from people related to traffic enforcement.
- Set and oversee traffic enforcement goals.
- Provide direction to the patrol supervisors and patrol members.
- Educate staff on traffic program goals and patrols with staff to ensure they can spot infractions.
- Oversee interaction of staff with clients.
- Assess and report on the condition of infrastructure and equipment being used.
- Fill in for the Manager, Security Operations, when required.

What You Bring

- Post-secondary in a Security-related field.
- Experience in a Security-related field and preference towards traffic enforcement-related experience.

Additional Strengths

- Traffic-related courses and experience would be an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to professionally manage adversity and maintain composure in situations that may involve high levels of tension.
