Position Title: Victim Services Worker

Hours: 35 hours/week

Salary: $45,879-$53,368 annually

Reports to: Director of 'Namgis Community Services

About The Role The Victim Services Worker provides support and information to victims and their families as they navigate the legal process. The role helps ensure that victims' rights are protected and respected within the justice system while providing compassionate and appropriate support throughout the process.

The position also contributes to improving the health and well-being of the community by coordinating and delivering preventative programs.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide support and information to victims and their families as they navigate the legal process

- Help ensure victims understand and have their rights protected and respected within the justice system

- Provide compassionate support and guidance to individuals and families

- Coordinate and deliver preventative programs that support community health and well-being

- Communicate effectively with victims, families, community members, and relevant service providers





- Provide information related to the court process and justice system

- Encourage and support individuals throughout their involvement with the justice system

Skills and Experience

- Knowledge of the court process and justice system

- Solid verbal and written communication skills

- Comfortable with public speaking

- Ability to motivate, encourage, and support others

- Ability to communicate with individuals and families in a respectful and supportive manner

Education/Qualifications

- Grade 12 education

- Two-year diploma in Human Services is considered an asset

- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence

- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
