Job Summary:

As a Vision Specialist at SORSYS, you will own the machine vision side of our inspection and automation projects, from the first feasibility test through to commissioning at the customer's plant. You will select cameras, lenses and lighting, build and tune inspection programs on Keyence systems, and prove out detection and measurement performance on real production parts. You will work closely with our mechanical, controls and robotics team, support machines already in the field, and write clear documentation for customers and operators.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, test and fine-tune inspection programs on Keyence CV-X , IV and VS Series systems (defect detection, gauging, presence/absence, OCR, orientation)
- Run feasibility studies on customer sample parts and report detection results, cycle times and limits
- Select and specify cameras, lenses, lighting and mounting for current machines
- Set up communication between vision systems, PLCs and robots (EtherNet/IP, Ethernet, digital I/O)
- Commission machines in-house and at customer sites, and train operators and maintenance staff
- Troubleshoot and improve vision performance on machines in service, including our sorting lines
- Prepare setup documents, inspection reports and user manuals

Minimum Qualifications:





- College Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in electrical, mechatronics, automation or a related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience programming Keyence vision systems, specifically CV-X and VS Series
- Solid understanding of machine vision lighting, optics and image setup
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Ability to travel to the US on short notice
- Valid Class G or G2 driver's licence and a reliable vehicle

Beneficial Qualifications:

- Vision-guided robotics experience (robot-camera calibration, pick-and-place guidance with FANUC, ABB, Yaskawa or similar)
- PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley, Keyence KV, Siemens or similar)
- Experience with other vision platforms (Cognex, Keyence XG, or deep learning inspection tools)
- Experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing environments
- Ability to work independently and manage your own tasks on multiple projects
- Willingness to adjust hours on short notice to meet project deadlines
- Organized, hands-on and proactive
