Linking Hope is a registered charity that connects surplus goods and volunteer time with grassroots organizations supporting those in need. From our Winnipeg distribution hub, we help move essential supplies quickly, responsibly, and with dignity across Winnipeg and Northern communities.

Our work is powered by people. Businesses contribute resources. Volunteers sort and prepare donations. Community agencies easily access what they need to support their valuable work. Together, these connections create a chain of care that can turn a donated item into something much more meaningful: a sense of being seen, supported and valued.

We are a small, hands-on team that works closely together, supports one another and cares deeply about the communities we serve. We pitch in, solve problems together, go the extra mile to tackle the work to serve our communities.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of HR and Special Projects, we are looking for a Volunteer & Community Engagement Coordinator to create meaningful volunteer experiences that are well-organized, support the agencies we serve and advance our organizational goals. Someone who is forward thinking, adaptable, organized, dependable, and strongly aligned with the goals of our work. Someone who can build genuine relationships with volunteers and community partners, communicate with empathy, is cutting-edge, structured, and resourceful, and will roll up their sleeves when needed.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who believes that how we treat people matters just as much as what we accomplish.

What You’ll Do

· Create, coordinate, and supervise welcoming, inclusive volunteer experiences for individuals and groups to support a wide variety of events including distribution and agency days, community events and emergency response initiatives.

· Lead volunteer recruitment, application, onboarding, orientation, scheduling, retention and repeat participation.





· Enhance our volunteer management system to streamline the process and ensure volunteers have everything they need to be successful.

· Be the primary contact for volunteer inquiries, scheduling, and engagement using tools including email, newsletters, social media, and events.

· Develop corporate, school, post-secondary, agency, and community volunteer partnerships.

· Plan and host volunteer recognition and appreciation initiatives, including milestone acknowledgements, thank-you communications, and events that celebrate contributions and strengthen volunteer engagement.

· Maintain accurate policies, attendance records, waivers, mailing lists, statistics, and reports that demonstrate volunteer impact.

· Identify opportunities to improve how the work is executed through process improvement and technology tools.

· Ensure volunteer experiences prioritize “safety first” and raise awareness of Linking Hope’s mission and community impact.

· Collaborate closely with other roles including Agency Relations, Logistics, Administration, Program Support, and organizational leadership.

What You Bring

· Experience coordinating volunteers, community programs, events, nonprofit activities, or related work.

· Strong organization, scheduling, communication, and relationship-building skills.

· Professionalism, timely follow-through and a strong desire to create a rewarding and valued volunteer experience.

· Experience building or working with a volunteer management system is an asset.

· A community-centred, trauma-informed, respectful, and inclusive approach.





· Ability to manage changing priorities and work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

· Comfort working across office, warehouse, community, and event settings.

· Experience with Microsoft 365, Mailchimp, email communications, and volunteer/contact databases.

· Ability to work occasionally on evenings or weekends.

Compensation: The hourly rate is $25.00-28.00 per hour, depending on candidate experience, skills, and qualifications. Pre-employment screening is required – details to be provided. As part of our team environment, work is onsite.How to Apply
