Structural Steel Welders

Location: Sarnia, Ontario

Position: Full time, permanent

ProMart Industrial is growing, and we are looking for experienced Structural Steel Welders to join our fabrication team.

We have a strong backlog of work extending into 2028 and continue to secure major projects across the nuclear, mining, defence, data centre, industrial, and infrastructure sectors.

Responsibilities

- Complete structural and miscellaneous steel welding in accordance with drawings, welding procedures, and project requirements
- Perform FCAW, GMAW, MCAW, and SMAW welding as required
- Read and interpret shop drawings, welding symbols, specifications, and work instructions
- Verify joint preparation, fit up, weld size, and material requirements before welding
- Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions when required
- Complete multi pass welds and maintain proper interpass cleaning
- Inspect completed welds for size, profile, appearance, and visible defects
- Follow approved welding procedures and use the correct consumables for each application
- Maintain material identification and traceability where required
- Work closely with fitters, lead hands, quality inspectors, and supervisors to keep projects moving
- Identify drawing, fit up, or quality concerns before they affect production
- Operate welding equipment, grinders, torches, and related tools safely
- Maintain welding equipment and keep work areas clean and organized
- Support changing production priorities and project schedules
- Follow all ProMart safety, quality, and operating procedures

What We Are Looking For

- Previous welding experience in a structural steel or industrial fabrication environment




- Current CWB welding certification is preferred
- Candidates without current certification must be willing and able to complete company welding tests
- Experience with flux cored and metal cored welding processes is strongly preferred
- The ability to read shop drawings and understand welding symbols
- A good understanding of joint preparation, weld sequencing, distortion control, and workmanship requirements
- Experience welding carbon steel and structural assemblies
- Robust attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work
- The ability to work independently and as part of a production team
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- A positive attitude and willingness to support the team
- The ability to work afternoon shifts and overtime when required is an asset

Pay: $20.48-$31.00 per hour
