Job Responsibility:
Keyano College's Academic and Student Experience Division is currently seeking a full-time Academic Integrity Officer. The ideal candidate will work to ensure fair and consistent management of the Academic Integrity Policy and Procedure. This includes working with stakeholders across the Academic Division as well as the campus community to provide advice on academic integrity, investigate and determine outcomes of integrity violations, generate reports of academic integrity instances on campus, and provide information regarding issues and trends in post-secondary education related to academic integrity. The Academic Integrity Officer will also work in collaboration with the Office of the Registrar to track all investigation outcomes within official student records and generate reports. The Academic Integrity Officer will act in a confidential manner, adhering to all applicable legislation such as FOIP.
Note: this is not a remote or hybrid work opportunity, you will be required to work on campus and relocate to Fort McMurray, AB.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director, Academic Experience, the accountabilities for this role include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing and facilitating the Academic Integrity Policy and Procedure. Also, ensuring that all members of the college community are aware of the policy and procedure.
- Collaborating with relevant departments across the College to develop and deliver academic integrity programs, initiatives, resources, and events, fostering a culture of awareness, education, and prevention.
- Offering support to students accused of academic misconduct, ensuring they understand the process and have access to resources.
- Establishing and maintaining good relationships with relevant departments including the various Schools,
the Office of the Registrar and the Students' Association of Keyano College.
- Maintaining currency in academic integrity standards, emerging issues and case laws and ensuring compliance within the college.
- Regularly reviewing and updating the academic integrity policy and procedure to ensure they remain effective and relevant.
- Collaborate with Academic Experience colleagues to support faculty with integrating academic integrity topics into the curriculum, to ensure students receive continuous education on ethical practices throughout their academic journey.
- Establishing mechanisms for feedback from students and staff on the academic integrity policy and procedure.
- Liaising with faculty and staff on policy, procedures, and emerging issues in academic integrity (i.e. contract cheating, technology innovations etc.).
- Leading academic integrity investigations and ensuring timelines and outcomes adhere to applicable policy and procedure.
- Report outcomes to all stakeholders including students, faculty, program areas, the Office of the Registrar, and others where applicable.
- Facilitate the investigation of academic integrity violations including meeting with student(s), discussing violation(s), facilitating the education of academic integrity related concerns, and providing referrals to academic success coach for success plan and other supports as deemed necessary.
- Work closely with the Office of the Registrar to ensure accurate student records and to determine if integrity violations impact other application student policies and procedures.
- Work with the Office of the Registrar to ensure all appropriate information surrounding violations are tracked on student records in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the Office of the Registrar to gather and analyze data to provide the institution statistics about academic integrity occurrences and trends of academic integrity violations and issue reports to Dean's Council, Academic Council, etc.
- Provide recommendations for changes in Policy and Procedure, as it related to institutional data and trends across the post-secondary education sector.
- May be assigned to special projects and events as deemed necessary by the Direct Academic Experience and the Academic Division. These events and projects may include areas such as New Student Orientation, Student Cafes, Workshops, etc.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Minimum five years of experience in a legal, compliance and enforcement role, including minimum three years in a supervisory capacity in a similar workplace
- Minimum three years providing academic advisement or interpreting policy and procedure
- Experience working in a post-secondary institution considered an asset
- Instructional experience is considered an asset
- Training related to restorative justice considered an asset
