Health & Safety Director Role Summary The Health & Safety Director will provide strategic direction and operational oversight for the health and safety programs, systems, and culture. The successful candidate will assess and modernize the function, strengthen regulatory compliance and risk management, develop organizational capability, and partner with leaders and employees to embed safe, accountable practices across the business. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a practical, strategic professional who can translate regulatory requirements and operational risk into clear priorities, measurable performance, and sustainable improvement. Health &Safety Director Primary Duties & Responsibilities include Assess the health and safety function, including organizational structure, resources, systems, policies, training, reporting, and overall effectiveness.



Develop and execute a multi-year improvement roadmap aligned with operational priorities, regulatory requirements, and corporate objectives. Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company’s health and safety management system, policies, procedures, standards, and safe work practices. Strengthen safety culture through visible leadership, employee engagement, effective communications, and transparent accountability at all organizational levels. Oversee incident reporting and investigation, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, risk assessments, hazard analysis, and performance trend reviews. Ensure compliance with applicable occupational health and safety and transportation requirements; lead regulatory interactions, audits, inspections, and required reporting. Build effective training, competency, contractor safety, and emergency preparedness programs. Establish performance measures and executive dashboards; prepare clear materialsand presentations for quarterly Board of Directors meetings and attend those meetings to present results, risks, priorities, and recommendations. Coach and develop the health and safety team, recommend appropriate organization and resourcing, and support succession planning and knowledge
