UBC is seeking a Seismic Engineer focused on numerical research within the ASSET Group. This role involves leading applied research programs and developing cutting-edge modeling techniques.

This position will require substantial independence and leadership to manage numerical modeling activities. You will translate high-level research goals into actionable work packages while mentoring students and researchers. Engagement with industry partners to foster collaboration and proposal submissions will also be critical.

Key Responsibilities:



• Lead the design and execution of numerical research projects • Coordinate and review modeling work from various research staff • Provide technical guidance in earthquake engineering • Disseminate research outcomes through multiple scholarly avenues • Develop strategic partnerships for research and funding

Requirements: • Degree in Engineering or Applied Science • Minimum of one year of engineering experience • Proven expertise in numerical methods for seismic analysis • Advanced skills in OpenSees and Python programming • Dedication to promoting equity and diversity in engineering
