Position Summary

The Retail Sales Associate supports the day-to-day operations of the retail store by providing exceptional customer service, processing sales transactions, merchandising products, maintaining a clean and protected shopping environment, and assisting with general store operations. This position contributes to a positive customer experience while ensuring efficient and effective retail operations.

This is a PT 3-month contract position , with regular weekend availability required . The successful candidate may also be scheduled for additional shifts based on operational needs.

Reporting to the Retail Supervisor , the Retail Sales Associate works collaboratively with team members to support store goals and provide excellent service to customers and donors.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Provide friendly, professional customer service and assist customers with product selection and inquiries.
- Process cash, debit, and credit card transactions accurately.
- Balance cash drawer and complete opening and closing procedures as assigned.
- Receive, price, stock, and merchandise products on the sales floor.
- Maintain attractive product displays and ensure merchandise is organized.
- Assist customers with purchases, pickups, and general store information.
- Safely move and load furniture and other merchandise using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
- Inspect merchandise before it is placed on the sales floor.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the sales floor, cash area, warehouse,



and surrounding work areas.
- Follow health and safety policies and procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient daily store operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous customer service experience required.
- Retail sales experience is considered an asset.
- Experience operating a point-of-sale system and handling cash transactions is an asset.
- Experience working in a fast-paced retail environment is preferred.

- Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work throughout the workday.
- Ability to wear steel-toe footwear as required.
- Availability to work weekends is required.
- Flexibility to work additional shifts, including evenings and holidays, based on operational needs.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory criminal record check.
