The Township of Spallumcheen is hiring a Temporary Heavy Duty Mechanic to support Public Works.

Your role is vital for the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you'll work under the Public Works Foreman to inspect and service the Township's fleet of municipal vehicles. You will ensure their protected and dependable operation through expert repairs, preventative maintenance, and welding. Accurate maintenance record-keeping is also a key component of this job. Key Responsibilities:
Inspect and maintain municipal vehicles regularly
Perform necessary repairs on heavy equipment
Conduct welding and fabrication tasks
Document maintenance activities thoroughly
Collaborate with the Public Works team effectively Requirements:
Must have a Grade 12 education
Hold a BC Certified Journeyman Certificate in Heavy Duty Mechanics
Three years of mechanic experience is required
Valid Class 3 BC Driver's Licence with Air Brake Endorsement
Class C Welding Ticket and Level 1 First Aid Certification Contribute your mechanical skills to enhance operations at Spallumcheen’s Public Works.
