At Phoenix the Skilled Labourer is also proficient at protected, efficient operation of a diverse range of construction equipment, and other pieces of equipment including dump truck.

Accountability includes:
Maintain proper awareness of one’s surroundings.
May mentor, train current employees in the safe and effective operation of construction equipment.
Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program
Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections. Ensure proper procedures are carried out according to the Phoenix Safety Program.
Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
Read plans, instructions, or specifications to determine work activities
Assist tradespersons such as welders, pipefitters etc. in construction activities
Operate construction-related equipment (e.g., driving trucks or forklifts etc.
Operate large, powered machinery and equipment (e.g., saws, drills, grinders, blowtorches, pressure cleaners, jackhammers).
Erect temporary structures and scaffolding
Place traffic signs to warn traffic of construction in process
Clean and maintain construction equipment appropriately




Align structural components according to blueprints
Ensure that all work is being done safely and in compliance with company protocol
Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants and remove other hazardous materials
Attend site meetings /toolbox huddles
Promote a team approach with all employees and sub-contractors

Requirements:
3 + years operating a diverse range of equipment operation an asset.
Knowledge of construction materials and processes.
Familiar with safe work practices and procedures
Good communication skills at all levels
First aid experience would be an asset
O.S.T and C.S.T.S Training would be an asset

Qualifications:
High School Diploma preferred
Class 3E Drivers License or class 1 preferred
Experience within the construction industry, downstream petroleum industry preferred
