Job Summary

We are seeking reliable and safety-conscious Grasshopper Blueberry Harvester Drivers for our short-season harvest in Pictou County. If you enjoy outdoor work and want to earn competitive wages during a focused, rapid-paced seasonal window, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities
Operate grasshopper harvesters designed for blueberry harvesting, ensuring optimal performance throughout the harvest season
Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on harvester using hand tools and power tools to keep equipment in top condition
Conduct safety inspections of equipment and work areas, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines
Monitor harvesting equipment to ensure optimal berry pick quality and minimal field damage.
Communicate effectively with the field supervisor and crew regarding bin changes and field conditions
Strictly follow all farm safety and food handling regulations.

Requirements




Previous experience operating machinery is preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates
Must have own reliable transportation to varying field locations within Pictou County
Must be flexible to work long hours, including early mornings and weekends, depending on weather conditions.
Solid attention to safety procedures and a proactive approach to equipment care and maintenance
Solid work ethic and commitment to finishing out the short harvest season

This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to work outdoors in a fast-paced environment for a brief period of time.

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 66.0 per week
