Job Description
Work with all relevant departments to create beautiful, high quality workplace lighting that matches the game-play and art direction of the world while respecting the story-telling requirements
Balance performance and visual quality with your lighting
Identify and set up best practices of production workflow
Robust knowledge in modern engine Global Illumination techniques (GI optimisation and baking automation, dynamic GI…)
Create lighting for interiors, exteriors, character set-ups, and cinematics.
Work to meet Production deadlines
Work with Technical Directors to assist with creating and providing feedback of development of Lighting-specific tools and features
Communicate effectively with other departments to solve of any technical or artistic issues to overcome technical lighting challenges within given constraints and visual requirements
Debug and optimize lighting scenarios as required
Prioritize, plan, and organize Lighting tasks with the management team to help Identify risks within the schedule and suggest changes
Translate conceptual illustrations into outstanding real-time lighting
Establish lighting mood board and lighting visual targets based on Art Director's guidance and game design needs
Provides creative direction and feedback to concept artists on defining the mood for the project in pre-production
Qualifications
5+ years of experience with multiple (preferably AAA ) titles shipped as a Lighting Artist
Degree/Diploma in Fine Arts, Film, or Animation or other relevant discipline
Lighting experience in Unreal Engine or an equivalent game engine (e.g. Unity/Frostbite)
Excellent understanding of color, materials, mood, space and the properties of light
An interest in Photography and Cinematography
Experience with Maya or Blender or equivalent DCC is a plus
The ability to learn and adapt quickly
Additional Information
