We want you to succeed and continue building your future here at CRH Canada.Position OverviewThe Estimator/Coordinator supports Dufferin Construction’s Alternative Delivery Model (ADM) business by preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, supporting contract administration activities, and developing proposal-based submissions. This role is responsible for bid and proposal preparation, cost forecasting, and coordination with internal teams, customers, and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery while adhering to company policies, procedures, and standards.Job ResponsibilitiesPrepare complete and accurate cost estimates for Alternative Delivery Model Projects based on drawings, plans, and specificationsAnalyze quantities, material pricing, labor costs, and subcontractor pricing Make independent decisions related to estimating and coordinating activities within established guidelinesRepresent Dufferin Construction in negotiations with customers and subcontractors regarding contracts, change orders, extras, disputes, and claimsSet up new contracts in accordance with company proceduresCoordinate contract administration with the Project Superintendent,
including general conditions and customer relationsAdvise Project Superintendent on contract interpretation and cost control mattersSupervise and coordinate the processing of contract documentationLiaise with Contracts and Credit departments regarding account collectionProvide field personnel with all necessary information to support successful contract executionAccurately forecast the financial performance and outcomes of assigned projectsCoordinate with subcontractors, estimators, and design partners to obtain scopes, pricing inputs, and technical clarifications.Lead bid preparation and submission for complex proposals, ensuring alignment with project requirements.Coordinate RFQ/RFP pursuit activities, ensuring all submission requirements, formats, and deadlines are met.Facilitate collaboration between design teams, estimators, schedulers, construction managers, and external consultants to align technical inputs with pursuit strategy.Manage pursuit schedules, track deliverables, and maintain version control across all proposal documents.Lead information gathering, including design criteria, project requirements, and technical data needed for proposal development.Develop and edit technical proposal narratives.Organize and document meetings, including agendas, minutes, action items, and follow up coordination.Support development of design concepts, alternative technical solutions, and constructability reviews.Maintain compliance with procurement rules, contract requirements, and client specifications throughout the pursuit process.Assist in risk identification,
mitigation planning, and integration of commercial,and schedule strategies into the final submission.RequirementsPost‑secondary diploma or degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or universityMinimum 5+ years of construction related experience.Ability to travel up to 25% as required Strong knowledge of estimating methodologies, bid preparation, and cost controlAbility to interpret construction drawings, plans, and specificationsStrong understanding of contracts, change management, and project financialsHigh level of computer literacy and proficiency with estimating and office softwareStrong verbal and written English communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsExcellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skillsStrong decision‑making skills with the ability to act independentlyAbility to problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilitiesCollaborative team player who supports cross‑functional teamworkStrong customer and stakeholder orientationHighly detail‑oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage shifting prioritiesPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.This position is based in an indoor, climate-controlled office space.This position may require some lifting of objects no heavier than twenty pounds (20lbs.)This is sedentary in nature but may require occasional periods of standing and walking.CRH Canada recognizes Canada’s diverse landscape.
