Job Description

- The Post Office Assistant provides customer-focused counter services at the Sturgis Post Office,



basically day to day.
- This role includes selling postal products and services, sorting and processing mail, supporting customers with information and forms.
- This role is known for sorting out delivery and service difficulties, quickly and in a practical way.

Responsibilities

- Sell postal products and services to the business community and the public
- Sort, distribute , and process mail into the correct classifications
- Give customers information plus any required forms
- Tackle delivery and service problems thoroughly, and without delay
- Provide customer focused counter service
- Handle mail containers up to 50 lb (22.7 kg)
- Push or pull boxes, sort mail, and stand for longer periods

Requirements

- High school diploma experience in business administration
- Training and/or experience working with the public in a retail or service environment
- Experience with sales and cash transactions
- Knowledge of general accounting or post office accounting
