As the
**Events and

Internal Engagement Student** , you will report to the Manager of
Events and Experience on a variety of meaningful projects that will challenge
your creative and project management skills.
**What success looks like:**
Assist the team in the planning and delivery of portauthority employee activities and events, including the Long Service Awards

Luncheon, Take Our Kids to Work Day, United Way campaign and the Annual Holiday

Party
Support the collection ofevent data for post-event reports,



participate in the review and feedbackprocess on event successes and recommendations for future improvements.

Support the administration ofemployee experience programs at the port, including the recognition program,community volunteering program, co-op student engagement, and other relatedinitiatives.

Coordinate vendor relationships, consult with internalstakeholders, build and design communications, support event set-up and takedown, and conduct post-implementation reviews.

Collect event data for post-event reports, providingfeedback on the event successes and recommendations for future improvements.

Support large external eventsalongside the Events and Experience team, as required

**Qualifications:**
The successful candidate will be a full-time undergraduatestudent enrolled in Business, Social Sciences, or a related program.

You will possess excellent verbal and written communicationskills.

You will demonstrate proficiency in computer skills,including the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power

Point),along with experience using design platforms like Canva
Preference will be provided to students with experience inemployee engagement, people and culture, marketing, event planning, marketresearch, and/or reporting on analytics.

Preference will be given tocandidates possessing a class 5 or class 7 driver's license
**Salary:**
The starting rate for this position is $25.00 per hour, in accordance with the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) Local 517 collective agreement.

Based on a 37.5 hour work week.

office conditions primarily during regular daytime working hours.

The
successful candidate will have the option of working remotely from home one day
a week.

Typical hours of work are Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per
week.

The successful candidate may be requested to support additional events or
work occasional overtime, including evenings and weekends.
