Become a Wellness Activities Assistant at The Emerald, where you will lead enriching programs like fitness, music, and crafts for residents. Foster well-being and participation in a caring community.

This position, reporting to the Wellness Coordinator, focuses on implementing various resident-centered activation programs. Ideal candidates will have a two-year Therapeutic Recreation diploma and experience in a long-term care context. Your work will empower residents through activities that support their cognitive and physical abilities while collaborating with the Wellness Manager on care plans.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct sports, arts, and cognitive activities for residents
Perform protected transfers and support mobility




Ensure residents have necessary assistive hardware
Plan and promote local community events
Observe residents’ changes and document accordingly

Requirements:
Two years in a recognized Therapeutic Recreation Program
Recent experience in long-term care settings
Class 4 vehicle license preferred
Current First Aid/CPR certification required
Specialized dementia programming training preferred
