Job Summary Job Title: Emergency Physician Work Site: Squamish General Hospital Status: Full time Start Date: July 1, 2026 Compensation Type: Clinical Service Contract Come work as an Emergency Physician with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)! The Squamish General Hospital Emergency Department (SGH ED) is seeking dedicated physicians to join our team. These positions include a mix of weekend, daytime, and night shifts, with opportunities for additional shifts. Compensation is provided through a group service contract. These positions may also be eligible for Rural Program funding, adjudicated on a case‑by‑case basis by the Ministry of Health. Squamish General Hospital serves a population of approximately 24,000 and operates a 13‑bed emergency department. The emergency physician also provides cross‑coverage for the acute medical inpatient unit and an adjoining long‑term care facility for urgent issues. The ED receives roughly 20,000 visits per year. The current schedule includes four single‑coverage physician shifts per day. Lab, CT Scanning, x‑ray, and ultrasound are available on site.
