Finmac Lumber Ltd. is seeking an experienced Controller to contribute to the growth and success of the company through strong financial analysis, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, vendor relationship management, and inventory oversight. The successful candidate will bring excellent communication, management, and analytical skills to support the company's financial and operational objectives. Key Responsibilities * Coordinates month-end and year-end closing procedures and perform reconciliations as needed * Prepares sheets for month-end and year-end account reconciliations * Prepare internal financial statements * Performs financial analysis on sales and profit * Inventory and freight accruals analysis * Monthly inventory and freight cut-off procedures * Prepares sales, cost, purchasing and other management reports as needed * Supports the preparation of budgets and forecasts * Periodic auditing of sales, purchasing and cost transactions * Leading inventory physical counts * Liaisons with the operations and sales and purchasing department to ensure smooth processing of transactions * Participates in the implementation of MIS and other projects * Daily bank reconciliation for incoming outgoing payments * All Accounts Payable related duties * Create from Accounts Payable new incoming Inventory costing * Provides supervision to Warehouse and Receiving Administrators * Perform bi-weekly payroll and HR related duties * Manage insurance, general and auto from new to renewals * Annual provincial and federal submissions T-4, Manitoba Health and Education, WCB Manitoba * Participates in cross-training initiatives * Other duties as required Qualifications Education and Experience: * Minimum 5 years general accounting experience * Certified Accountant or equivalent * University degree in accounting, finance or other related field Skills and Competencies: * Thorough knowledge of the full accounting cycle * Strong accounting, inventory and costing knowledge and experience * Proven management skills * Experience in working with operations * Mathematical aptitude and solid analytical skills * Intermediate MS Office (Excel, Word, Access and Outlook) level * Knowledge of and experience with ERP systems * Adaptable, cooperative and able to work under pressure and deadlines * Strong initiative, proven ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, large volumes of work and a fast paced, service-oriented environment * Strong work ethic and a positive attitude * Demonstrated maturity with the ability to self manage, organize, prioritize and interact well with others/team * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills What We Offer: * Competitive annual salary * Annual bonus opportunity * Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP) * Comprehensive health and dental benefits
