Position Title: Project Manager, Construction
Schedule: Monday – Friday, in-office. Flexible hours with core hours Monday–Thursday and a half day Friday.
Location: London, ON (Office located at 530 Admiral Drive)
Reporting To: Senior Project Manager
Role Summary
A well-established London-based company specializing in advanced exterior wall systems for commercial and architectural buildings is seeking an experienced Project Manager, Construction to oversee construction projects from planning through completion, with a strong focus on profitability, scheduling, coordination, and customer satisfaction.
The company works with high-performance materials including ceramic, glass, and aluminum to create building envelope solutions that combine modern design, durability, and sustainability.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Project Manager will plan, coordinate, and communicate effectively throughout the development and execution of construction projects. Working closely with the Field Superintendent and Field Foreman, this position will oversee project organization, scheduling, material requirements, costing, and implementation to ensure projects are completed successfully and profitably.
The ideal candidate will bring Canadian construction experience, strong project coordination and cost management skills, and a proactive, customer-focused approach. Experience from an installation, general contracting, or construction management perspective will be considered valuable.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage projects from initial planning through completion, with a strong focus on overall profitability
- Control project costs and oversee contract administration throughout the project lifecycle
- Work closely with the Field Superintendent and Field Foreman to ensure projects remain on schedule and meet deadlines
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project schedules and coordinate timelines with customers and contractors
- Submit required project forms and documentation to General Contractors
- Stay in close communication with the Estimator to clarify project scope and address any discrepancies or questions
- Requisition and coordinate materials and supplies required to complete projects on time
- Coordinate material orders while considering project schedules, delivery timelines, and potential supply chain issues
- Interpret plans and contract terms and communicate project scope and requirements to the on-site job foreman
- Manage change notices, including required documentation and communication with General Contractors and internal corporate personnel
- Prepare and submit job costing and project progress reports
- Monitor project costs, schedules, and overall performance to ensure projects remain profitable
- Spend time on job sites as required to support successful project completion and address project requirements
- Take appropriate action to address construction delays, emergencies, and other issues that may impact project timelines
- Oversee the performance and coordination of on-site workers
- Investigate project issues and direct activities related to construction site requirements
- Coordinate effectively with customers, contractors, field personnel, and internal teams throughout the project
- Assist with collections and efforts to reduce outstanding or bad debts
- Maintain a proactive approach to identifying and resolving project issues
- Contribute to a positive customer experience and maintain strong customer relationships
- Follow all corporate policies and procedures
Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Project Management or a related construction environment
- Knowledge and experience in Revit is required
- Experience managing project profitability, costs, administration, and scheduling
- Construction experience from an installation, General Contractor, or construction management perspective
- Strong understanding of construction processes, project timelines, and delivery schedules
- Experience coordinating material orders and understanding the impact of supply chain and delivery timelines on projects
- Solid costing and project financial management skills
- Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date project schedules
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate effectively with customers, contractors, field personnel, and internal teams
- Proactive approach to identifying and resolving project issues
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple project requirements and deadlines
- Strong understanding of construction plans and project documentation
- Familiarity with Procore is an asset, but not a must
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Sales-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and contractors
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively with on-site teams
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to project profitability and successful completion
The Package
$75,000 – $95,000 annual base salary based on experience
Bonus opportunity: Up to $20,000 per year, paid quarterly
