At Mrs. P Stitches, bridal alterations are about more than changing measurements. We transform beautiful gowns into dresses that feel as though they were made specifically for each bride.

We are an elevated bridal alterations and customization atelier specializing in accurate fit, beautiful finishing, and thoughtful gown transformations.

We’re looking for an experienced Bridal Seamstress / Alterations Specialist who takes genuine pride in exceptional workmanship.

This is a hands-on, production-focused role for someone who understands garment construction, notices the smallest details, and believes the inside of a gown should be finished as beautifully as the outside.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll complete standard and advanced bridal gown alterations, including:

- Bodice and side-seam alterations
- Straps, shoulders, necklines and sleeves
- Bridal hems and multi-layer skirts
- Trains and bustles
- Cups, boning, corsets and structured bodices
- Zippers, closures and linings
- Lace and appliqué work
- Beading and detailed hand sewing
- Invisible and couture-style finishing
- Working with lace, tulle, satin, silk, chiffon, organza and other delicate bridal fabrics

You’ll also:
- Follow fitting notes, markings and production instructions accurately
- Preserve each gown’s original design, balance and structure
- Identify construction risks or unclear instructions before proceeding




- Carefully inspect your work before final quality control
- Protect each gown and maintain a clean, organized workspace
- Collaborate closely with our Head Seamstress, fitting team and production team
- Help maintain the workmanship standards of a growing bridal atelier

What We’re Looking For

We’d love to meet someone with:

- Professional experience in bridal alterations, formalwear, couture garments or similarly complex clothing
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit and finishing techniques
- Confidence using industrial and domestic sewing machines and sergers
- Strong professional hand-sewing skills
- Experience working with delicate fabrics, embellishments, structured bodices and multi-layer gowns
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong technical judgment and problem-solving skills
- Reliability and respect for production timelines
- A calm, collaborative working style
- Genuine pride in beautiful craftsmanship

Bridal alterations experience is strongly preferred. Relevant professional experience in couture, eveningwear, costume or luxury garment construction may also be considered.

Compensation

Piece-work compensation.

Compensation is based on assigned and completed alteration work rather than an hourly wage.
