Role Description The Cloud Data Platform Engineer is a full time remote role responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable cloud-based data platforms that support analytics and application workloads. Day-to-day tasks include developing data pipelines, configuring and optimizing cloud infrastructure, and integrating databases and services to ensure reliable data flow. The role involves monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, managing security and access controls, and implementing best practices for data storage and processing.

The engineer collaborates with software developers, data engineers,



and product teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions and supports continuous improvement of cloud data architectures.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose, resolve, and prevent issues in cloud data platforms and related services.
- Candidates should possess software development and programming skills for building data pipelines, APIs, and automation scripts (e.g., Python, Java, or similar languages).
- Candidates should possess infrastructure skills, including experience with cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP), networking basics, and infrastructure as code tools.
- Candidates should possess database skills, including experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, performance tuning, and query optimization.
- Experience with data warehousing, ETL/ELT tools, and distributed data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Kafka) is beneficial.
- Understanding of security, compliance, backup, and disaster recovery practices in cloud environments is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, and document solutions and processes effectively.
