The Child Club is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Daycare Director to join our team!

About the Role The Daycare Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the childcare centre while creating a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and engaging environment for children, families, and educators.

We are looking for someone who is confident in leadership, enjoys working as part of a team, and is committed to providing high-quality early learning and care.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the daily operations of the daycare and ensure smooth program functioning
- Support, lead, and motivate a team of educators and support staff
- Ensure compliance with Alberta childcare licensing requirements, policies, and regulations
- Maintain accurate staff, child, attendance, and program records
- Support staff scheduling, vacation planning, training, and coverage
- Mentor educators and encourage professional growth and development
- Support the implementation of play-based, child-centred programming
- Work with educators to ensure meaningful planning and documentation of children's learning
- Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families, and staff
- Communicate professionally with parents and guardians regarding program matters
- Address concerns, incidents, and conflicts in a timely and professional manner
- Participate in licensing visits,



inspections, and program reviews
- Ensure health, safety, cleaning, sanitation, and emergency procedures are followed
- Maintain a positive, welcoming, and inclusive centre environment
- Assist with enrolment, tours, orientations, and family communication
- Ensure required documentation and incident reporting are completed appropriately
- Help develop, review, and implement centre policies and procedures
- Support a positive workplace culture where educators feel valued and respected

What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is:
- A qualified Early Childhood Educator (ECE)
- Experienced in a childcare leadership or supervisory role
- Knowledgeable about Alberta childcare licensing and regulations
- Organized and able to manage multiple priorities
- A strong communicator who can work effectively with staff and families
- Comfortable making decisions and handling challenging situations
- Compassionate, approachable, and professional
- A positive team leader who leads by example
- Passionate about children's learning, development, and well-being
- Reliable, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced childcare environment

Qualifications

Required:

- ECE certification recognized in Alberta




- Previous childcare experience
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or management experience
- Current First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain
- Clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
- Current or willingness to obtain all required childcare certifications and training

Assets:

- Level 3 ECE certification
- Previous Daycare Director or Program Director experience
- Experience with Alberta childcare licensing
- Experience with staff scheduling and supervision
- Experience with Flight: Alberta's Early Learning and Care Framework
- Experience with childcare administration and program planning
