Role Description The Inhome Designer is a full-time, in office role based in Kanata, ON. This role involves visiting clients’ homes to assess their spaces, discuss lifestyle needs, and create customized room plans that reflect La-Z-Boy’s style and comfort standards. The designer will select furniture, fabrics, and accessories, prepare digital or hand-rendered design presentations, and collaborate with showroom staff to ensure a seamless customer experience from consultation to delivery.

Day-to-day responsibilities include scheduling in-home appointments, providing professional design recommendations, preparing sales quotations,



and following up with clients to support decision-making and long-term satisfaction.

Designer will also stay current with design trends, product lines, and company standards, while contributing positively to a cooperative, customer-focused team environment.

Qualifications

- Interior design expertise, including space planning, color coordination, and furniture layout skills.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and communicate design concepts clearly.
- Sales and consultative skills, including the ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
- Basic computer and digital tools proficiency, such as design software, point-of-sale systems, and standard office applications.
- Organizational and time-management abilities to coordinate in-home visits, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Collaborative mindset and professionalism, contributing to a respectful, inclusive, and team-oriented work environment.
- Post-secondary education or training in interior design, or a related field is a MUSt.
- Previous experience in residential interior design, furniture retail, or home décor is an asset.
