Housekeeper and Personal Assistant - 12-16 hours or more per week (vancouver (false creek/fairview))

4 hours a day every other day

compensation: $19-24 depending on experience

Sadly, our current housekeeper is going back to her home country so we are looking for someone to replace her. She will be able to orient you to the job and show you everything you need to know before she goes.

Job description:

Housekeeper & Personal Assistant, with occasional airbnb cleans when we are away

A few blocks East of Granville Island, Vancouver

compensation: $19-24/hour depending on level of experience

Looking for long-term housekeeping 3-4 days a week (approximately every other day) for approximately 4 hours.
Cleaning, household chores, organizing, tidying, laundry, basic food prep and occasional airbnb clean (when we are on vacation), for a townhouse; we are one adult and one child.

This job is perfect for someone whose schedule is quite open because the work days vary and will sometimes be on the weekend (weekdays are preferred but if we have a check in or check out then we will need you that day, and the occasional weekend during winter months).

This job is a good fit for someone who lives nearby and is looking for something part time.

Pay is every 2 weeks by cheque.

You must be legal to work in Canada.

Hours are often flexible starting ideally after 9am and ideally ending before 6pm at the latest. On rare occasions the day starts earlier or ends later.





Fluent english and approval for a criminal record cheque are required.

Must have local references and you must have relevant and similar work experience with references from.

Occasionally I rent my home, so on these days you ideally are available from 8am-4pm for the days that I have an Airbnb check in and from 11-3 on check out days.

If I don’t have Airbnb guests, the days and times are much more flexible. This is our primary residence so the majority of the time spent is on general housekeeping and house organizing.

Must have a flexible schedule to accommodate airbnb bookings and other specific days we may need help.

Job description:

home cleaning, tidying, laundry, organizing, food prep (washing and chopping vegetables and fruit); help with odds and ends around the house and porches.

Several of my past housekeepers managed and took charge of the household and this would be ideal arrangement to have again. The person in the current position has been with me since last summer and needs full time work and so will be moving on to that.

But hopefully she will be able to overlap with you for a few days to show you the ropes.

Knowing how to do a 5 star house preparation for guests or at least an ability to learn quickly is essential.





Regular days are fairly even paced but on days that we are packing to leave for a trip and the house needs to be prepared for airbnb the work is very fast paced. This requires stamina, an ability to prioritize, and efficiency.

Attention to detail and good communication skills are a must for this job. Looking for someone who is available long-term and someone who can commit to staying for 2 years.

We have 2 levels of stairs in our home so you must be able to go up and down stairs and carry items up and down stairs such as laundry.

This is a contract position. Pay is by cheque every two weeks. You must provide your ID, SIN, full name, and address. You are responsible for submitting your own CPP and EI should you choose to do so. You are responsible for reporting your income to CRA.
