Position: Senior Full Stack - Software Developer

Duration: 6 Months assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)

About the Engagement

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack - Software Developer (Java/Angular) to support the design, development, and delivery of a modern enterprise operational reporting portal.

The successful consultant will bring extensive hands-on full stack development experience using Java for backend/API development and Angular for front-end development, together with strong SQL, database, REST API, Microsoft Azure, and CI/CD expertise.

A key component of this engagement will involve reverse engineering, refactoring, and re-platforming existing reporting and business logic from legacy BI/reporting technologies such as WebFOCUS into a modern, scalable, maintainable Java and Angular web application.

Scope

Design, develop, test, and implement a modern web-based operational reporting application using Java and Angular.

Reverse engineer, interpret, refactor, and re-platform existing reporting logic, SQL, and data transformation rules from WebFOCUS or comparable legacy BI/reporting technologies.

Design and develop scalable REST API services supporting report and reference data.

Assignment Deliverables

Develop fully functional and appropriately documented Angular front-end code for the reporting portal.

Develop responsive and accessible report views based on existing reporting requirements and layouts.





Create unit tests and automated UI test coverage for developed application components.

Design, develop, test, and integrate REST API services exposing report and reference data.

Expertise Required

Must Have:

8+ years of experience developing large-scale, production business applications using Java for backend/API development.

5+ years of experience with Angular, or a comparable modern JavaScript/TypeScript framework, for front-end development.

Strong hands-on full stack development experience across front-end, backend, database, and API layers.

Demonstrated ability to reverse engineer, refactor, and re-platform existing reporting/query logic, such as WebFOCUS or equivalent BI/reporting solutions, into modern applications.

Strong experience with relational database technologies and SQL.

Experience with database design and deployment.

Experience designing, developing, documenting, and integrating REST APIs.

Nice to Have:

Working knowledge of Databricks.

Experience preparing technical, system, and implementation documentation.

Knowledge and understanding of AODA accessibility requirements and related standards.
