Role: Senior Software & Hardware Engineering Specialist – Aerospace

About the Role In your role, you will review and assess supplier’s airborne software and electronic hardware designs to ensure they meet technical requirements and regulatory requirements

Key Responsibilities

Participate in Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Reviews (CDR).

Review and assess supplier airborne software and electronic hardware certification plans.

Review and assess supplier designs involving embedded software, FPGA, ASIC, and PLD technologies.

Evaluate development, verification, validation, and certification evidence.

Conduct technical and process audits at supplier facilities.

Perform safety-of-flight and compliance reviews.

Assess software and hardware test results, analyses, and supporting certification data.

Determine final technical and certification compliance status.

Lead the resolution of safety, technical, process, and compliance deficiencies with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Prepare and/or review design compliance and certification reports.

Support the evolution of the Software & Electronics (SWEL) domain roadmap.





Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers and specialists.

Required Qualifications

Requirements management and traceability using tools such as IBM DOORS, JAMA, or equivalent.

Programming experience in C, C , Ada, Assembly, and/or Python.

Familiarity with hardware description languages and FPGA/ASIC development environments.

Solid understanding of embedded computer architectures.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Software, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

15 years of technical engineering experience, including at least 10 years in aerospace/aeronautics.

Minimum 5 years of experience in FPGA/ASIC development and/or embedded software development for aerospace applications.

Strong working knowledge of airborne software and electronic hardware certification processes and Means of Compliance.
