Junior Estimator - Commercial Glazing

$50,000-$60,000 Base Salary

DMC Recruitment is partnering with a growing commercial glazing contractor in the Greater Toronto Area specializing in glass installation, replacement, and service work across commercial projects.

Our client is seeking a Junior Estimator to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1+ years of commercial glazing and estimating experience who is looking to continue developing their skills within the industry.

About the Role
This position will be focused primarily on estimating service projects. You will be responsible for reviewing project requirements, completing quantity take-offs, obtaining supplier and subcontractor pricing, and preparing accurate estimates and quotations.

This role also offers long-term career growth into Project Management. As your estimating experience develops, there will be an opportunity to take on additional project coordination and management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to determine project requirements.
- Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for service projects.
- Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare bid submissions, quotations, and project proposals.
- Interpret construction drawings and specifications to identify project scope and requirements.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, quotations, and bid documentation.




- Work closely with senior estimators and management to develop competitive and accurate pricing.
- Communicate with suppliers, vendors, and clients to gather information required for estimates.
- Support post-bid reviews and project handovers to the operations team.
- Assist with cost analysis and estimate tracking to improve pricing accuracy.
- Over time, take on additional project coordination and management responsibilities as skills and experience develop.

Qualifications

- Minimum 1 year of commercial glazing estimating experience.
- Commercial glazing experience is required.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard office software.
- Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong interest in learning and developing within the commercial construction industry.
- An interest in progressing into Project Management is considered an asset.
