Position: Junior Software Developer

Duration: 1 Year assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)

About the Engagement

Akkodis is seeking a Junior Software Developer to support the design, development, implementation, testing, and maintenance of large-scale enterprise web applications.

The successful consultant will bring hands-on development experience with Java, Oracle/SQL databases, REST APIs, RESTful Web Services, microservices, Azure DevOps, and object-oriented development practices. The role will involve translating technical system specifications into functional, tested applications while collaborating with technical and functional teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.

Scope

Support the design, development, implementation, testing, and maintenance of large-scale multi-client web applications.

Translate technical system specifications into functional and tested application components.

Develop and maintain applications using Java and Oracle/SQL database technologies.

Develop and integrate REST APIs and RESTful Web Services.

Support microservice-based architecture and apply established architecture principles to improve solution extensibility and maintainability.

Assignment Deliverables

Translate technical system specifications into working, tested applications.

Develop detailed programming and technical specifications.

Write, generate, test,



and maintain application code.

Develop and support Java applications integrated with Oracle or SQL databases.

Develop and integrate REST APIs and RESTful Web Services.

Expertise Required

Must Have:

2+ years of experience as a designer and developer in the large-scale multi-client web applications

2+ year of hands-on working experience of Java development with Oracle or SQL database

2+ years of hands-on experience of RestAPI, RESTful WebServices

Knowledge of security gateways and protocols (JWT, Oauth2.0, SSL Certificates)

Experience with object-oriented development practices, including design patterns, refactoring, and clean-code principles.

Solid Understanding of Agile methodologies.

Nice to Have:

Experience preparing user, system, and technical documentation.

Experience working within public-sector development standards and processes.

Exposure to Oracle E-Business applications.
