Global Wholesale Machinery is looking for a motivated 2nd–4th Year Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician to join our growing team.

We are looking for someone who already has hands-on mechanical experience with construction and heavy equipment and wants to continue developing their skills working alongside experienced technicians.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working on construction machinery, diesel engines, powertrain components, hydraulic systems, and equipment repairs, including disassembly and reassembly of mechanical components.

Responsibilities

- Assist journeyman technicians with inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of heavy construction equipment
- Assist with diesel engine diagnostics, teardown, component replacement, reassembly, and repair
- Remove, inspect, repair, and reinstall mechanical components
- Assist with troubleshooting engines, transmissions, powertrain, hydraulic, electrical, and cooling systems
- Perform preventative maintenance including oil changes, filters, fluid servicing, greasing, and inspections
- Assist with equipment breakdowns and mechanical troubleshooting
- Identify worn, damaged, or failed components and communicate required repairs
- Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment safely
- Prepare machinery for inspection, repair, sale, or customer delivery
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts, and work completed




- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow company and industry safety procedures at all times

Qualifications

- Registered 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Year Heavy Equipment Technician Apprentice preferred
- Previous hands-on experience working with construction or heavy machinery required
- Working knowledge of diesel engines and mechanical component disassembly and reassembly
- Experience with engine, transmission, powertrain, hydraulic, or electrical repairs is a strong asset
- Experience with Caterpillar, John Deere, Komatsu, Volvo, Hitachi, or similar construction equipment is an asset
- Ability to perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and follow repair procedures
- Comfortable working around large construction equipment and components
- Valid driver's license required
- Reliable transportation required
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding mechanical work
- Robust mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Safety-focused, dependable, and willing to learn
- Able to work independently when appropriate and effectively with journeyman technicians and the broader team

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
