This position will be based at our South Surrey, BC, location.

Position Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of production activities at Crescent Beach Marina, with a primary focus on structural aluminum fabrication and welding.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring solid technical fabrication knowledge and the ability to lead teams, manage production priorities and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule and to required quality standards.

A Production Manager’s Responsibilities:

Production & Technical Leadership





- Plan and oversee daily fabrication, welding and production activities.
- Coordinate labour, materials, equipment and work areas to meet project schedules.
- Monitor production progress and resolve issues affecting schedule, quality or productivity.
- Maintain a strong presence on the production floor, providing technical direction and support.
- Provide technical leadership for structural aluminum fabrication and welding.
- Develop effective build and welding sequences to maintain dimensional accuracy and minimize distortion.
- Apply distortion-control methods, including weld sequencing, jigs, fixtures, bracing and appropriate weld procedures.
- Review drawings and specifications and translate requirements into practical build plans.
- Identify fabrication, fit-up and constructability issues and work with Engineering to resolve them.
- Coordinate with Project Management, Engineering and other departments to support project requirements.

Leadership, Safety & Quality

- Lead, coach and provide direction to supervisors, working leads and production employees.
- Set clear expectations for safety, quality, productivity, performance and workplace conduct.
- Address performance concerns in coordination with HR and participate in recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews and employee development.
- Ensure work complies with company safety procedures, regulatory requirements,



drawings and specifications.
- Monitor quality and rework and promote continuous improvement in fabrication methods and production processes.
- Provide regular updates on production status, schedules, labour requirements and operational risks.

Qualifications & Experience

- 10+ years of progressive experience in structural aluminum fabrication and welding.
- 5+ years of supervisory or management experience leading welders, fabricators and production teams.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of aluminum fabrication, including build sequencing, fit-up, dimensional control and weld distortion.
- Demonstrated knowledge of distortion-control methods, including jigs, fixtures, bracing, weld sequencing and appropriate weld procedures.
- Experience in marine/shipbuilding, aluminum trailers, tanks, transportation equipment or industrial aluminum structures.
- Strong ability to read and interpret fabrication and technical drawings and translate them into production plans.
- Proven production planning, scheduling, leadership and technical problem-solving experience.
- Marine, shipbuilding or yacht construction experience is an asset; strong structural aluminum fabrication experience is the priority.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Rhino, Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
