We are currently seeking one journeyperson Automotive Mechanic to join the Kiff Auto team () in performing all tasks required to diagnose, repair and service components of cars and light commercial transport trucks. Fourth- and fifth-year apprentice(s) with ten years related experience will be considered. We operate strictly M-F/8-5, and are an “all makes” shop, however, our primary focus is diagnosis/repair/service to all European & Asian brands.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Confirm diagnostic findings with foreman to determine course of repair.
- Discuss work options with foreman and/or service manager.
- Review and act upon work orders.
- Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
- Inspect engine/driveline/transmission/EV motor for proper operation.
- Road test motor vehicles.
- Test/diagnose automotive electrical systems and components.
- Repair or replace mechanical units or components.
- Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications.
- Perform scheduled maintenance service.
- Test and adjust electrical and mechanical units to specifications.
- Complete reports to record problems and work performed.
- Always provide customer service as a top-of-mind priority.
- Work in tandem with existing lead diagnostician to produce in the shop,



plus lead the training of the junior technicians on the very specialized electronic repairs portion of the European and Asian vehicles we service.

EDUCATION: This position requires a high school education AND completion of a four-year automotive service technician program OR a combination of over four years of related work experience and industry courses in automotive technology to be eligible for trade certification.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, MEMBERSHIPS AND COURSES:

- Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification. (Ontario 310-S equivalent)
- Or, fourth/fifth-year automotive service technician apprentice with 10 years experience.
- Driver's licence, (Class G minimum) with a clean abstract.
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System Certificate. (WHMIS)
- Automotive Service Technician Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certificate. (preferrable)

Internationally trained Automotive Service Technicians:

- Skilled Trades Ontario (STO) foreign Certificate Qualifications Equivalency
