Stellar Transport Corp is hiring an experienced Class 1 driver for permanent, year-round local work within Edmonton and surrounding communities.

This position offers 40–50 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with no scheduled weekends or overnight routes. Most workdays begin at the customer’s yard at approximately 7:00 a.m., and drivers are home every night.

The position is open because our company is growing. We are looking for a safety-focused professional who wants dependable local work and a long-term position with a locally owned transportation company.

What We Offer

All Working Time Is Paid

Drivers are paid from the time they arrive at the customer’s yard until they return to the yard at the end of the workday. Paid working time includes:

Waiting time

Pre-trip and post-trip inspections

Loading and unloading duties

Load securement

Tarping

Delivery paperwork and documentation

Equipment and Freight

Our fleet includes:

Trucks with 32-foot Precision roll-off trailers

Trucks with 20-foot flat tilt decks

Tractor Trailers 32 to 80 feet

Tractor Trailers with Flat Bed

Current freight primarily includes general flat bed work, roof trusses, floor packages, lumber and other building materials.





The successful driver will receive paid training on the assigned equipment. Depending on the driver’s experience, abilities and preferences, the driver may be permanently assigned to one truck and trailer combination.

Responsibilities

Safely operate the assigned commercial truck and trailer

Transport trusses, lumber, floor packages and other building materials

Secure long, oversized and irregular loads correctly

Complete local deliveries safely and on schedule

Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections

Maintain accurate electronic logs and delivery documentation

Communicate professionally with the Operations Manager, customers, builders and job-site personnel

Identify and report equipment or safety concerns

Protect company equipment, cargo and customer property

Assist with loading, unloading and tarping when required

Represent Stellar Transport professionally at customer yards, job sites and on the road

Mandatory Qualifications

Valid Alberta Class 1 driver’s licence

At least 36 months of recent, commercially insured driving experience within the last 4 years

Ability to provide insurer-acceptable Letter(s) of Experience confirming the required driving history

Recent semi and flat-deck experience

Strong load-securement experience

Experience transporting long or oversized loads

Manual-transmission experience

Commercial driver’s abstract acceptable to the company’s insurer

Working knowledge of electronic logs

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical duties of flat-deck work

Skilled customer-service and communication skills

Ability to pass reference and employment-history checks

Legal authorization to work in Canada
