INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE FOLLOWING TEACHING POSITION

Temporary Part-Time Adult and Continuing Education Correspondence Teachers

Dates: Commencing as soon as possible and ending June 30, 2027.

Location: Remote (Online) Delivery - Bluewater District School Board Education Centre, Chesley

Reports to: Kathy Archer, Learning Services Administrator – Student Success

Remuneration : $49.92 (inclusive of holiday and vacation pay) as per Article 7.02, paid by timesheet to a maximum of 5 hours per learner

Position Summary:

This posting is intended to establish a pool of qualified Adult and Continuing Education Correspondence Teachers for the current academic year. Candidates will assess and support adult learners enrolled in correspondence courses and provide timely feedback, communication, and record keeping. Assignments will be made as operational needs arise during the academic year and will be based on qualifications, enrolment, and program requirements. Inclusion in the pool does not guarantee an assignment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Communicate with adult learners as required to ensure access to learning materials;
- Evaluation of submitted learning materials;
- Provide descriptive feedback to support learning outcomes;
- Written communication and updates as required with learners;
- Completion of report cards including mark, comment and learning skills;
- Communicate regularly with Adult and Continuing Education staff and administrator; and,
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

- A teacher in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers;
- Intermediate and Senior Qualifications in one or more of the following subject areas is required:
- Business Studies, Canadian and World Studies, English, Guidance and Career Education, Mathematics, Science- Biology, Chemistry, Physics

Assets:

- A theoretical understanding of adult and continuing education;
- Experience supporting adult learners;




- Experience using the Virtual Learning Environment (Brightspace);
- Strong teamwork skills;
- Excellent oral and written communication;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Strong assessment and evaluation practices.
