Job Summary

GCT Contracting Inc. is seeking a reliable and skilled Reconstruction Technician with experience in drywall, painting, and carpentry.

This is a full-time position focused on the rebuild side of property restoration. You will work on residential and commercial properties after emergency response, demolition, drying, and remediation have been completed.

The successful candidate will be a well-rounded tradesperson who takes pride in producing clean, professional work. You should be comfortable completing repairs independently while also working closely with supervisors, other employees, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

- Install, repair, tape, mud, sand, and finish drywall
- Complete drywall patches and texture matching
- Prepare walls, ceilings, trim, and other surfaces for painting
- Apply primers and paints using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment when appropriate
- Perform minor framing and general carpentry repairs
- Install doors, jambs, hardware, baseboards, casing, trim, and other finishing materials
- Repair and rebuild damaged walls, ceilings, and building components
- Complete caulking, filling, sanding, and final touch-ups
- Read and follow scopes of work, measurements, plans, and construction drawings
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Protect existing finishes, furniture, and occupied areas during construction
- Identify site concerns and communicate them promptly to the supervisor
- Manage time effectively and complete assigned work within project schedules
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites
- Communicate respectfully with clients, coworkers, supervisors, and other trades
- Follow company policies and all applicable health and safety requirements

Qualifications

- Previous experience in restoration reconstruction, renovations, residential construction, or commercial construction
- Strong experience in at least two of the following areas: drywall, painting, and carpentry




- Ability to complete repairs from rough construction through final finishing
- Knowledge of basic framing, trim installation, door installation, and finishing techniques
- Comfortable using common hand and power tools
- Ability to understand scopes of work, measurements, and basic construction drawings
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Good problem-solving and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, respectful, and professionally presented
- Physically capable of lifting materials, climbing ladders, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
- Basic hand tools and appropriate work clothing

Experience in every listed trade is not required. We encourage applications from candidates who are highly skilled in at least two areas and are interested in continuing to develop their abilities.

Pay: $18.25-$39.00 per hour
