Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Sales and Marketing to lead our sales growth, business development, customer relationships, and strategic marketing initiatives.
As a member of the senior management team, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that increase revenue, strengthen profitability, expand market presence, and position the Company as a category leader. You will bring strong commercial judgment, strategic thinking, leadership, and communication skills, along with a collaborative approach that supports departments across the organization.
The successful candidate will have senior sales leadership experience within the food-ingredient industry and a proven record of driving B2B growth, developing major accounts, and building high-performing sales teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies aligned with the Company’s overall goals, direction, and growth targets.
- Lead the Company’s sales efforts by identifying and pursuing key opportunities across existing and new markets.
- Take responsibility for revenue growth, cost of goods, sales development, market expansion, and departmental profitability.
- Establish sales forecasts, performance targets, operating plans, and measurable key performance indicators.
- Lead major accounts and develop strong relationships with customer executives, business leaders, and key decision-makers.
- Negotiate commercial terms and prepare customer contracts and confidentiality agreements for final review and approval.
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships, distribution opportunities, and new business channels.
- Recruit, train, coach, and manage a high-performing sales and business development team in coordination with HR.
- Establish individual and departmental sales goals, monitor performance, and provide ongoing mentorship and guidance.
- Foster a culture of accountability, sales excellence, collaboration, and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee the Company’s brand strategy and ensure consistent positioning and messaging across markets, channels, and geographic regions.
- Lead strategic marketing activities, including product marketing, digital marketing, industry events, trade shows, campaigns, public relations, and lead-generation initiatives.
- Ensure that marketing programs effectively support customer acquisition, sales growth, and the Company’s broader commercial objectives.
- Monitor industry developments, changing market dynamics, customer needs, and competitor activity.
- Analyze internal sales and marketing data against targets and relevant industry benchmarks, using the findings to recommend improvements and future growth opportunities.
- Evaluate potential new products, services, and value-added solutions based on market demand, customer needs, and Company capabilities.
- Ensure that sales activities, customer information, opportunities, and performance data are accurately maintained in CRM systems and Sage X3.
- Prepare and manage the departmental budget, allocate resources effectively, and ensure expenses remain consistent with sales targets and strategic priorities.
- Provide regular reports, forecasts, performance updates,
and strategic recommendations to the CEO and Executive Team.
- Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, Human Resources, and other departments to support the Company’s overall success.
Experience and Qualifications
- Demonstrated senior management experience leading sales, business development, or commercial operations.
- Direct sales experience within the food-ingredient industry is strongly preferred.
- Strong experience in B2B sales, including complex or consultative sales cycles, major-account management, and executive-level customer relationships.
- Proven ability to develop and execute sales strategies that generate measurable revenue growth and improve profitability.
- Experience building, leading, coaching, and evaluating sales or business development teams.
- Solid commercial, negotiation, forecasting, budgeting, and contract-management capabilities.
- Experience developing new markets, strategic partnerships, distribution channels, or product opportunities.
- Ability to interpret sales data, market intelligence, and financial information and translate them into practical commercial strategies.
- Experience using CRMs, resource planning systems, and Sage X3 would be an asset.
- Excellent leadership, critical-thinking, communication, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
- Collaborative leadership style and the ability to work effectively across departments and with senior executives.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, food science, commerce, or a related discipline is preferred.
- An MBA or other relevant graduate-level qualification would be considered a strong asset.
Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
