Senior Scheduler - Toronto

Our client is hiring a Senior Scheduler that will be responsible for developing, updating, and managing project schedules across multiple projects, ensuring they meet contractual requirements and timelines for projects in excess of $100m. This role also supports Project Managers in developing their own schedules, mentors staff, drives continuous improvement, and works with leadership to mitigate scheduling and planning risk.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement consistent scheduling and planning procedures across project teams
- Build, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera, MS Project, or equivalent software
- Coordinate with project teams to gather scope, milestones, resources, and constraints
- Standardize project schedules across multiple contracts and contract types
- Prepare integrated schedule analyses and share with project teams and senior management
- Establish work breakdown structures (WBS), activity durations, and workflow logic ties
- Identify schedule constraints and their impact on overall project integration
- Develop critical path schedule reports and performance metrics
- Evaluate subcontractor schedules and identify potential improvements or workarounds




- Perform resource loading/leveling and support schedule recovery plans as needed
- Align schedules with owner schedules of values to support progress billing forecasts
- Educate, mentor, and train staff and project managers in scheduling best practices
- Provide technical support to clients, project managers, and senior management
- Maintain solid working relationships with owners, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and engineers

Requirements

- Minimum 15 years' experience as a Construction Project Scheduler
- Experience scheduling water/wastewater facility construction projects over $100M
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (or international equivalent) in a related field
- Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6 for developing critical path schedules with milestones
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office and other scheduling software
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, manage, and train technical and non-technical staff
- Solid understanding of project controls: cost control, planning, risk analysis, estimating, and reporting
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
