Community Service Worker Instructor – Scarborough Campus

Position Summary:

The Instructor role requires comprehensive expertise in teaching the following courses:

- Essentials of Organizational Communications
- Introduction to Social Work and Community Practice
- Ethics and Professional Skills
- Community Service Work in Canada
- Law for Support Workers, Human Rights, and Government Services
- Community Development in Canada
- Introduction to Sociology
- Introduction to Canadian Social Welfare and Social Policy
- Housing and Homelessness
- Fundraising for Social Change
- Strategic Planning for Not-for-profit Organizations
- Professional Documentation and Employment Strategies
- Counseling Skills and Theory




- Group Dynamics
- Self-Care and Team Building
- High-Risk Population
- Social Psychology and Geriatrics
- Introduction to Community Mental Health and Addiction
- Harm Reduction and Crisis Intervention
- Preparation for Field and Qualified Practice

Requirements:

- Hold a Diploma in Community Service Worker program with a minimum of two years of full-time social work practice. A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW) is preferred.
- Previous experience in adult teaching is advantageous.
- Proficiency in lesson planning, computer skills, communication, presentation, and organizational abilities is preferred.

CACC is temporarily delivering courses online and is expected to return to normal in-class instructions per Ministry direction.

Job Type: Monday to Thursday. 20 Hours per Week
