Warehouse Forklift Operator (Part‑Time, 20 Hours Guaranteed)

Job Overview

We’re looking for a dependable, physically capable Part‑Time Forklift Operator to join our Dartmouth team. This role is hands‑on, forklift‑focused, and consistent day‑to‑day. You’ll load and unload trailers, stage freight, assist with deliveries, and support general warehouse operations.

This position offers a guaranteed 20 hours per week, with a steady schedule of Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–1:00 PM. Workload can vary; on slower days, you may be asked to leave early or may not be called in, but your weekly 20 hours are guaranteed.

Responsibilities

- Load and unload trailers and 5‑ton trucks
- Stage unloaded freight for upcoming deliveries
- Confirm paperwork, pallet counts, and piece counts
- Assist with 2‑person deliveries when required
- Report damaged freight immediately
- Perform daily forklift inspections
- Pick and pack customer orders (as needed)
- Complete physical and electronic cycle counts (as needed)
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Follow all safety procedures and equipment guidelines




- General warehouse support as required

Must‑Haves

- Valid forklift certification and strong hands‑on experience
- Experience loading/unloading trailers
- Experience in a warehouse environment
- Ability to lift 50–70 lbs repeatedly with no restrictions
- Comfortable assisting with 2‑person deliveries
- Basic computer skills (checking email, printing)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
- Willingness to adjust to workload changes (early leave or no call‑in on slow days)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Nice‑to‑Haves

- Experience performing cycle counts
- Ability to learn simple WMS or customer systems
- Interest in learning parts of the coordinator role over time
