If balancing an account down to the penny gives you an unreasonable amount of satisfaction, we should probably talk.

We are an established Calgary-based company looking for an experienced, organized and proactive Bookkeeper to join our team.

This isn't a position for someone who simply enters transactions and moves on. We're looking for someone who takes ownership of the books, notices when something doesn't look right, asks questions and communicates important financial information to management.

- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Send customer statements and follow up on outstanding accounts
- Process vendor invoices and payments
- Complete bank and credit card reconciliations
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule
- Review employee earnings, deductions, benefits, vacation and statutory pay
- Complete payroll remittances and required government filings on time
- Prepare and file GST returns
- Ensure receipts and supporting documentation are properly maintained in QuickBooks Online
- Prepare journal entries and account adjustments
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger

- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting
- Prepare regular financial reports for management
- Monitor cash flow and upcoming financial obligations

- Work with management and external accounting professionals as required

- Maintain organized and confidential financial records

What We're Looking For

- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online
- Experience with AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations and general ledger accounting
- Experience with GST and payroll remittances
- Robust working knowledge of Google Sheets
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage recurring deadlines without constant reminders
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities

The Person We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is proactive, accountable and comfortable communicating with management.

If something doesn't reconcile, you investigate it.

If an account is overdue, you follow up.

If a deadline is approaching, you're already on it.

If you notice an unusual cost, discrepancy or potential issue, you bring it forward.

You don't just record the numbers — you pay attention to what they're telling you.
