JOB DESCRIPTION – CLEANER/JANITOR/HOME SUPPORT

Reporting to: Manager of Maintenance

Annual Salary: $48,750 Monthly Rate: $4062.50 Hourly Rate: $25-27

Overview: Reporting to the Manager of Maintenance - This position is an important part of our Maintenance team and will be responsible for the cleaning of common areas, vacated suites and occupied suites for home support, across the three buildings operated by The 127 Society for Housing in Yaletown.

This position requires an energetic, positive, physically fit, and dependable individual, interested in working as part of a team.

Daily work schedule for this position will be provided by the Manager of Maintenance.

Position includes full benefits package following successful 6 month probation period. Benefits are paid by the employer including a 9.43% self-directed RRSP program. Parking space will be provided.

Experience:

Past cleaning experience and WHIMIS certification required.

Duties and responsibilities: Included but not limited to.

Daily – Cleaning, scrubbing, wiping of the Laundry rooms, lobby, common areas, TV lounges.

Tabletops, counters in all areas, vacuuming hallways, baseboards, washing/disinfecting of handrails, windowsills, elevator doors and buttons, exit stairwell doors and handles.

Dusting all common area blinds, mopping stairwells.

Disinfect lobby and common room furniture.

Empty rubbish receptacles in community rooms, all washrooms, Library, TV rooms and all offices.

Taking extra attention of disinfecting and cleaning of doors/handles, seats and bowls, tap handles, toilets, counters, sink, tile back splash and mirrors.

Replenish all paper products if needed. (toilet paper, paper seat covers and paper towels)

Empty garbage,

Wipe and disinfect hand dryers and soap dispensers,

Wipe out and disinfect washers and dryers,

Wash and disinfect laundry tubs or sinks including faucets.

Weekly

As directed by Manager of Maintenance

Home support,



which offers cleaning and disinfecting apartments of tenants.

Disinfecting all kitchen and bathroom surfaces including showers and appliances.

Washing and disinfecting of commonly touched surfaces.

Removal of garbage and recycling.

Cleaning interior/exterior of fridges and stoves.

Vacuuming carpet, washing and disinfecting all Lino flooring.

Periodic cleaning of inside windows.

Pest Control Preparation.

Floor buffing of common areas and bi-weekly vacuuming of garage and use of water hose.

Bi-weekly Offices - all offices to be cleaned bi-weekly, vacuumed, all surfaces disinfected including phones and keyboards and light fixtures and door handles.

Monthly

Stairwells and washing of all stairwell treads and handrails and any soiled surfaces

Cleaning of three community kitchens including disinfecting all surfaces, fridges, stoves and clean out removal and disposal of all food stuffs from fridge.

Storage locker areas, floors to be vacuumed, mopping of floors,

Handles and doors to be disinfected,

Wall washing - throughout common areas and hallways monthly and as needed

To sweep out and clean locker areas

To sweep out and clean garage areas – power washing annually

To sweep out and power wash garbage rooms

Ongoing;

To attend daily maintenance meetings

To report any tenant issues to Community Workers

To complete Incident reports as required – provide to Manager

Preparation of suites for pest control treatment including of moving furniture

Cleaning and disinfecting vacant units for re-rent





Washing and disinfecting appliances

Washing of walls in common areas and suites

Power washing - outside power washing of concrete and entrances.

Litter pick up, leaf raking.

Mop all floors:

Lobby, elevator, all entrances, laundry room, library, and community room.

Annually Bi-annual - Waxing, stripping, and buffing common area floors.

Quarterly cleaning light fixtures in hallways and common areas.

Shampooing of common room furniture. Once a year.

Carpet cleaning of common hallways. Once a year.

Any other duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager

Note: Due to vulnerable tenant population a criminal record check is required.

And full COVID19 vaccination including boosters.

Skills:-
- Experience in custodial or commercial cleaning preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and products
- Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Solid time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently

As a Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in various areas. Your attention to detail and ability to follow established cleaning procedures will contribute to creating a safe and pleasant environment for employees and visitors. Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour
