Our client, a well-established and highly regarded law firm, is seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Law Clerk to provide direct support to a senior member of their litigation team.

This role is well suited to a proactive, organized and detail-oriented professional who takes ownership of their work and is committed to delivering a high level of service to lawyers and clients. The successful candidate will work closely with counsel and internal teams to keep matters progressing efficiently, ensure all procedural and court deadlines are met, and provide comprehensive day-to-day litigation support.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate logistics for discoveries, motions, hearings, trials and other litigation events.
- Liaise with court and tribunal staff regarding court files, filings and document requests.
- Prepare, coordinate and complete the service and filing of legal materials with courts, tribunals and opposing parties.
- Open, organize and maintain client files, including tracking deadlines, diarizing key dates and maintaining accurate records.
- Coordinate the collection, organization, review and production of documents with lawyers, clients and external service providers.
- Prepare litigation documents, including cost outlines, bills of costs, notices of motion and motion-related affidavits.
- Assist with legal research and the preparation of Books of Authorities, including compiling, formatting, side-barring and highlighting materials.
- Manage electronic discovery materials and maintain accurate production records and logs.
- Organize and maintain pleadings, productions and other litigation documentation.




- Maintain effective reminder and bring-forward systems to ensure deadlines and follow-ups are addressed.
- Provide general administrative and practice support as required.

Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum 5 years of civil litigation law clerk experience.
- Law Clerk diploma or certificate.
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure and litigation procedures.
- Proven ability to manage complex files and competing priorities with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment and discretion.
- Experience with eDiscovery platforms and electronic document management systems is an asset.
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Acrobat/PDF and Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience with legal accounting, document management or practice management systems is an asset.
- Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to manage time-sensitive matters professionally and calmly.

Hours

Monday to Friday, standard business hours of either 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
