About the Role

We are looking for a QA Engineer – Mobile App & Website to join us on a part time contractor basis.

You will help ensure the quality of MirrorMii across our mobile application and website by identifying issues before they reach users, validating new features, testing real-world user flows, and working closely with developers, designers, and product team members.

This role is well suited for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and able to clearly communicate product issues and potential risks.

Responsibilities

- Perform manual functional, exploratory, and regression testing across the MirrorMii mobile app and website.
- Test key user journeys, new features, edge cases, and error scenarios against product requirements and designs.
- Validate layouts, navigation, interactions, and overall usability across supported:
- Mobile devices
- Operating systems
- Screen sizes
- Web browsers
- Identify and document bugs with:
- Clear reproduction steps
- Expected vs. actual results




- Environment and device information
- Screenshots or screen recordings when appropriate
- Retest resolved issues and verify fixes before release.
- Identify regressions, unresolved issues, and potential release blockers.
- Create and maintain practical test cases, regression checklists, and testing documentation.
- Provide concise QA summaries after testing cycles, including:
- Testing coverage
- Issues discovered
- Outstanding or blocked items
- Collaborate with developers, designers, and product stakeholders to clarify expected behaviour and improve the overall user experience.
- Communicate significant issues and risks promptly to the team.

What We’re Looking For

- Experience testing mobile applications and web applications.
- Strong understanding of manual QA and software testing workflows.
- Ability to identify, reproduce, and clearly document software defects.
- Solid attention to detail and a user-focused mindset.
- Ability to perform exploratory testing beyond predefined test cases.
- Clear written communication and ability to work effectively with developers and product teams.
- Comfortable working independently in a hybrid working environment based in Vancouver, BC.




- Good judgment when assessing issue severity, regression risk, and release readiness.
- Reliable, organised, and able to manage testing tasks within agreed timelines.

Testing work will generally be organised around individual features, regression cycles, or planned releases.

For each testing milestone, the team will align on:

- Scope and expected deliverables
- Target completion date
- Estimated and authorised hours
- Testing requirements
- Completion criteria

We value curiosity, ownership, sound judgment, and clear communication. Because we work across multiple disciplines, QA findings should be easy for developers, designers, and product team members to understand and act on.

Because this position involves access to unreleased product builds, internal documentation, testing accounts, and potentially user data, signing a Non-Disclosure and Intellectual Property Agreement (NDA) will be required before access to internal systems is provided.

About You

You don’t just test whether a feature technically works — you think about how real users will experience it.

You are comfortable exploring unexpected scenarios, raising concerns early, and giving developers enough information to reproduce and resolve problems efficiently.
