We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Foot Care Nurse (RPN or RN) to join our healthcare team at our brand-new, modern foot care clinic! In this vital role, you will provide specialized foot care services to diverse patient populations, including seniors, individuals with chronic conditions, and those requiring wound management. Your expertise will help improve mobility, prevent complications, and enhance overall quality of life.

You will work directly alongside our lead Chiropodist in a collaborative, mentorship-driven clinical setting. Prior foot care experience is considered a strong asset, but we warmly welcome passionate nurses eager to expand their scope—you will have the opportunity to learn directly alongside our lead Chiropodist.

Key Responsibilities

- Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct lower-limb skin, vascular, neurological, and nail assessments to identify issues such as infections, ulcers, deformities, or circulation problems.
- Specialized Procedures:



Perform routine and advanced nursing foot care, including nail trimming, reduction of thickened nails, callus/corn care, wound dressing, and diabetic foot management with precision and safety.
- Sterilization & Instrument Care: Perform cleaning, decontamination, packaging, autoclaving, and sterilization of clinical instruments as needed, strictly adhering to IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) guidelines and clinic protocols.
- Care Planning: Develop and execute individualized care plans in close collaboration with the lead Chiropodist, patient, and broader care team.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and family caregivers on proper foot hygiene, injury prevention, compression, and self-care techniques.
- Documentation & Progress: Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments, treatments, and patient outcomes using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to clinical hygiene, sterilization, and infection control protocols for all equipment and instruments.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate comprehensive lower-limb care alongside physicians, physical therapists, home care providers, and community support services when needed.

Qualifications & Mandatory Requirements

To practice as a Foot Care Nurse in our clinic, candidates must possess and maintain the following active credentials:





- Nursing Registration: Active General Class registration in good standing as an RPN or RN with the provincial regulatory body (e.g., CNO).
- Advanced Foot Care Certification: Completion of an accredited Advanced Nursing Foot Care program (combining both theory and clinical components).
- Professional Liability Insurance: Valid, active nursing professional liability insurance coverage (e.g., RNAO, RPNAO/WeRPN, or CNPS).
- CPR & First Aid: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification.
- Previous clinical foot care experience is a strong asset.
- Experience working with elderly populations, senior care, long-term care, home care, or acute/chronic care environments is an asset.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or clinical EMRs).
- Strong foundation in pain management techniques, wound care protocols, and patient-centered communication.
