Position Summary
The Powered Lift Truck Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing powered industrial lift trucks and related material-handling equipment. This includes electric, propane, diesel, and gas-powered forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and order pickers. The technician ensures all equipment remains secure, reliable, and compliant with company and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and safety inspections on powered lift trucks and related equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using appropriate diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
- Repair or replace defective parts, such as motors, transmissions, hydraulic pumps, and control systems.
- Conduct operational tests to verify quality of repairs and ensure proper equipment performance.
- Maintain detailed service records and update maintenance logs accurately in the company system.
- Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and manufacturer standards.
- Collaborate with parts and service teams to order necessary components and maintain adequate inventory.
- Provide technical support and training to equipment operators on proper use and maintenance practices.
- Stay current with evolving technologies, manufacturer bulletins, and service best practices.

Qualifications





- High school diploma or GED required; technical diploma or certification in heavy equipment, diesel, or industrial maintenance preferred.
- 2+ years of experience maintaining or repairing powered lift trucks or similar equipment.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with manufacturers such as Toyota, Crown, Raymond, Hyster, or Yale a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, service manuals, and diagnostic codes.
- Valid driver’s license; forklift operator certification preferred.
- Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools, handheld service devices, and common shop equipment.

Work Environment

- Combination of shop and on-site field service work

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$45.00 per hour
