Established in 1911, the historic James Bay Inn Hotel & Suites is one of Victoria’s most cherished landmarks. Located in the quiet, picturesque James Bay neighborhood—just steps from Beacon Hill Park and the Inner Harbour—our full-service property combines charm, warmth, and a welcoming, community-focused environment. Operating both a lively, classic pub and an Art Deco restaurant, our kitchen stays busy serving hearty, high-quality meals to both long-time locals and travelers from around the world.

We are currently looking for a team member that is dependable and has a minimum 2 years experience as Evening Front Line Cook to join our dedicated culinary team. If you thrive in a fast-paced kitchen, take pride in food quality and consistency, and bring a strong work ethic to every shift, we’d love to have you cook with us at the James Bay Inn!

Duties and Responsibilities

- Solid experience cooking with flat tops, grills, stoves, ovens and deep fryers.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Prepare food items by cutting, chopping and mixing
- Follow recipes




- Operate equipment properly and safely
- Follow Recipes and the James Bay Inn Standards
- Handle, store and rotate products properly
- Receive and put away orders
- Reliable and trustworthy to open the kitchen in the mornings.
- Work well in a team and independently
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Follow all JBI, city, provincial and federal safety protocols
- Maintain the quality of each dish while ensuring a speedy output
- Other duties as assigned by the Chef
