Job Overview

Vector Corrosion Technologies is looking for a Laboratory & QA/QC Technician to join our team.

This is a hands-on position that combines laboratory testing, quality assurance/quality control, manufacturing support, and research and development. The successful candidate will assist with testing and evaluating our corrosion mitigation products and manufacturing materials while also supporting the development of new products, materials, processes, and testing techniques.

Responsibilities

Laboratory & QA/QC

- Perform sampling, sample preparation, laboratory measurements, testing, and analysis.
- Conduct QA/QC testing on corrosion mitigation products and manufacturing materials.
- Accurately record, organize, and enter laboratory and test data.
- Perform basic cleaning, maintenance, and routine calibration of laboratory and testing equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory work area.
- Complete required documentation and paperwork accurately and on time.

Research & Development

- Assist with laboratory testing to produce reliable and precise data for scientific investigations.
- Prepare test samples and mixtures according to established instructions.
- Collect, document, and report test results.
- Collaborate with team members on the design and execution of experiments.
- Assist with the assembly and construction of larger-scale tests.
- Participate in field trials of laboratory-developed products, materials, and processes.
- Assist with preparing results and information for review by senior team members.

Education

- Degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in natural sciences or a related technical field,



or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience.
- Concrete industry training is considered an asset.

Experience & Skills

- Experience processing, preparing, and analyzing laboratory samples for chemical, physical, mechanical, or durability testing.
- Experience with quantitative analytical and/or instrumental techniques.
- Experience working with concrete or mortar is an asset.
- Manufacturing or production-line experience is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to take accurate measurements.
- Good mathematical aptitude and ability to accurately record, organize, and interpret data.
- Comfortable using computers, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
- Good manual dexterity and ability to safely operate laboratory equipment, tools, and machinery.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Robust verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.

Working Conditions

This is a hands-on role that may involve:

- Working with laboratory chemicals and hazardous materials while following established safety procedures.
- Working around machinery, hand tools, and power tools.
- Exposure to dust in manufacturing or testing environments.
- Standing at a workstation for extended periods.
- Lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Normal hours are approximately 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, although hours may vary depending on operational requirements. Occasional overtime, evening, night, shift, or weekend work may be required.
