As a Registered Nurse (RN) with GEM Health Care Services, you will be part of a growing team of professionals dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of our clients.

We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate RN to provide one-to-one care to a private client in Thornhill. The client requires respiratory assessment and manual chest physiotherapy during a short evening visit.

Available job locations:

Thornhill

Available shifts include:

- Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, ongoing
- Each in office visit is approximately one hour
- The nurse will be paid for two hours per shift: one hour for the on-site visit and one additional hour
- Additional shifts may become available for nurses interested in picking up more hours

Compensation:

- $47.00 per hour
- Each care visit is one (1) hour in length
- Each care visit is PAID for two (2) hours

Responsibilities include:

- Providing consistent one-to-one nursing care in the client’s home
- Completing and recording vital signs, including blood pressure and heart rate
- Performing anterior and posterior chest auscultation
- Providing manual chest physiotherapy using prescribed techniques, including intercostal massage, chest percussion and vibration
- Monitoring the client’s respiratory status and response to treatment
- Reassessing lung sounds when required
- Following the client’s established care plan and written clinical instructions
- Completing clear and accurate visit documentation
- Promptly reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate GEM office representative
- Providing care in a professional, respectful and compassionate manner





Detailed written instructions regarding the client’s condition and required chest physiotherapy techniques will be provided.

Qualifications:

You must have:

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Current Police Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Current immunization record, including a current TB test
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Experience with respiratory assessments and manual chest physiotherapy is preferred
