Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Edge Bander Operator to join our team in Scarborough, ON. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining industrial edge-banding machinery to apply veneer, PVC, and wood edging to panels and cabinetry components.

Key Responsibilities

- Machine Setup & Operation: Set up, calibrate, and operate edge-banding machines according to job specifications, material types, and thickness requirements.

- Material Inspection: Inspect panels, laminated pieces, and edge-banding materials prior to production to ensure clean edges and proper adhesion.

- Quality Control: Monitor machine output for smooth finish, alignment, flush trimming, and glue line consistency; perform regular quality checks throughout production.

- Routine Maintenance: Perform regular cleaning, blade/cutter adjustments, glue pot refills, and preventative maintenance on machines.

- Production Support:



Work closely with the woodworking and assembly team to meet daily delivery schedules and production targets.

- Safety Protocols: Follow all shop safety guidelines, maintain a clean workspace, and proper safety gear (PPE) at all times.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Experience: Previous hands-on experience operating edge-banding machinery in a millwork, woodworking, or cabinet manufacturing environment is required.

- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of edge-banding materials (PVC, ABS, wood veneer), adhesives, feed speeds, and cutter adjustments.

- Attention to Detail: Ability to read shop drawings/cut lists and catch minor defects or alignment issues early.

- Flexibility: Willingness and availability to work overtime as needed based on production demands.

- Physical Capability: Comfortable standing for long periods and regularly lifting wood panels and materials (up to 50 lbs).

Working Hours & Compensation

- Regular Shift:

- Monday to Thursday: 7:25 AM – 4:25 PM

- Friday: 7:25 AM – 1:25 PM (Enjoy an early start to your weekend!)

- Overtime: May be required based on client demands and production requirements.

- Competitive Pay: $22.50 – $25.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
