E.C. BOONE Ltd., a locally owned sign manufacturing company with over 70 years of experience, is known for its quality craftsmanship and exceptional service. With a dedicated team of 18 employees, we provide tailored signage solutions to a diverse range of clients. We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to help manage and oversee our financial operations.

Position Overview

As the Assistant Controller, you will report to the Controller and play a vital role in assisting with management accounting functions, preparation of financial statements, administration of payroll, and other related duties. This role is essential to our financial health, providing hands-on support across a variety of accounting and financial management tasks.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements, adhering to strict deadlines

· Assist in budgeting and financial planning

· Oversee cash flow and maintain effective cash management

· Perform balance sheet account reconciliations

· Review general ledger entries, investigating any unusual transactions

· Assist with processing of bi-weekly payroll

· Ensure compliance with government finance regulations, including HST, payroll taxes, and income taxes

· Administer group health insurance and pension plans

· Assist with oversight of office and accounting staff,



providing training and guidance

· Act as the secondary contact for the annual external audit

· Ensure accurate accounting procedures across office operations

Qualifications

· Minimum of 3 years in an accounting management role

· Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent; CPA designation or progress toward it is a strong asset (Relevant education & experience will be considered)

· Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with accounting software

· Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
